In the Imperial City's “temple district,” we see that there are three HUGE temples to the main deities. Outside the Exchange deity's area are amphitheaters and market stalls, places for debate and for material exchange. There's a smaller temple to Beseth, which we visit. It's the 4th largest temple in the district. Outside Beseth's area, they give away food, there are places for healing/wound-tending, and for repairing clothes/shoes. In the main temple there are plenty of hearths for warmth in cold weather (like now), plenty of comfy areas for prayer, big windows. There is an aura of calm, of tranquility, of peaceful home and hearth, and people traveling through this area seem to heave a sigh and relax when they pass through it. This is an outpost of Beseth, the “mother church” is in Kelsun, so nobody asks Bel to take on a mission for the goddess as she continues her travels.

Jessa decides to help at one of the food stalls outside, roasting potatoes in a bonfire and giving apples to hungry passersby. She is talking to a teen boy who tells her of his bad home life, how his stepmother doesn't like him, and Jessa finds herself unexpectedly and disconcertingly spilling out her story “yeah, I had similar problem when I was a child in Kirenweld” and suddenly realizes what she's saying while we're here in disguise and shuts up and changes the ending of her story.
