We head south to seek the nomadic elves. On the third day of travel, we find the tribe of nomadic elves. In conversation, we reveal we are looking for our half-sister (but using details from our cover story, which is interspersed with some of the truth). The elves see through our story, and essentially ask us for proof: so Jessa crushes a walnut with her bare hand; and Bel cuts herself and uses a Cure Light to heal it. Upon these proofs, an elf steps forward and calls us “sister.”

We meet our half-sister, Vethandra, the full-elf daughter of the Duke of Corosaruth. She recalls little from her former life, but recalls she was sheltered and cared for, and knows that she had a sister but does not have clear memories of her.

Vethandra is a Nourisher; when she awakes each day, nourishing food has appeared for her to share with her companions. She does not know where this comes from, nor has an answer been provided by the elven Ancestors with whom she communes.
