Kayla and Darwyin attempt to go into the dream state, but are unsuccessful on the first attempt. The party talks to the Yaunti hybrid who recommends that they take out the Nezahualpili threat before taking on the threats within the Yaunti camp. If the group feels they must rescue their friend first, then she recommends that they do so and then destroy the Couatl. After that, she recommends that they flee the island and let the Nezahualpili and Yaunti duke it out.The Couatl is in the top level of the tower and the Anethema is on the bottom floor.

The party decides to head up to the top floor, but on the way they encounter a group of Yaunti that have captured Gunter and Glowen. This group is directed by an encanter to enter a secret door, which takes them to a stairwell that runs the height of the tower. The party ambushes the group just before they get to the Anethema. They are victorious and are able to free their friends. They then proceed to the Anathema's chamber and kill it.

The party is able to take a 5 minute rest on their way to the top of the tower to save Jellineth by disrupting the ritual, and to kill the Couatl.
